Dear STM Families,
It is hard to believe that March has arrived … this school year is flying by. This month will hopefully bring us signs of spring as we journey through Lent. We will focus on the season of Lent during all classes and through special events and liturgies that will take place at the school. Tomorrow and each Friday of Lent, our students will join together in the church at 2:30 p.m. for the Stations of the Cross. You are welcome to join us. During Lent, we prepare for Easter. This is a time of prayer, restraint, and questioning of what is really important in our lives. We will encourage our students to consider their own Lenten journey and how they might want to live Lent … this might include giving up some things that they like to help them appreciate their blessings or it could include extra acts of kindness and compassion during the season of Lent. Spring Break is only one week away. Students will begin the break on Friday, March 10 while our teachers and all of the diocesan school employees will come together at STM for a day of faith formation. Bishop Johnston will begin the day with Mass at 9 a.m. in our church. Please pray for us as we take this time to contemplate our own mission as Catholic educators. We look forward to another solid week of learning to end our 3rd quarter next week!
